If the shoe fits, wear it

I wore my So Danca slippers to class Saturday and I'm still liking them. I may just buy another pair as insurance against this style being replaced by something New! And Improved! that don't work as well.

After ranting about renversé last week, I gave thought to asking our instructor to teach the thing, rather than just throw it into a combination in centre and expect us to figure it out. I was late arriving for class, though, and I decided to hold off until after class or before the next one. However, now that I know what the parts of this step are, I recognized that she taught it during barre without naming it. And we did it again during adagio before attempting it at speed during allegro.

I don't remember learning any parts of renversé before Saturday. I can't tell whether that's because it didn't happen or I just didn't recognize it. I think I'd prefer if she said, "This is a new step called renversé and this is how it's done". I think I'd put it together in my head faster that way. But that's just me and I'm not teaching this class.
