Port de Paws

There was a moment last night when one of the students confused "pause" for "paws". As in hands. Hilarity ensued.

I've been seeing referrals from a German blogger recently. Far too often referrals are attempts to generate traffic to an unrelated website so I rarely follow them, but I took a peek at this one and found it was from a woman who was taking adult ballet classes in 2013. My understanding of German is horribly poor, but it looks like she also was taking pointe class (or class in pointe shoes; I'm not clear). What she'd linked to in my blog was a post from 2013, apparently in reference to the picture it contains. This, of course, sent me browsing through some other of my 4 year old posts.

One of those blog entries describes an incident I remember quite vividly, where the instructor of the infamous Saturday Beginner 2.75 class substituted in the Sunday Beginner 2 class. How was that more than four years ago?

Another from May 2013 observed that it had been six months since I first took the now infamous Beginner 2.75 class. That makes it FIVE years I've been taking this class.

What has changed in that five years? I'm still not the best in this class, but I no longer feel the need to hide in the back of the room. In fact, last night other students pushed me to the front of the class so they could hide in the back, and I didn't feel the least bit terrified. I even got a couple of compliments from the instructor (and some corrections during barre, which is why I take this class!)

Comments are encouraged! It doesn't matter whether you're a total newbie asking a question or a professional offering advice; I want to hear from you.

That said, Blogger sometimes quarantines comments for reasons I can't explain. If your comment doesn't show up immediately it may be waiting for approval. I'll approve almost anything relevant, but I have to notice it first! Spam will be trashed, of course.
