Lost and Found, made of Unobtanium

When I got to class this evening, I could only find one of my So Danca slippers. Fortunately I still carry my Capezio Hanami slippers, so I had something to wear. Of course, the Fates made sure that every exercise included at least one turn, including barre. I still like the way the Hanamis look and feel, but they also still twist on my feet during turns. When I got back to my car after class I found the other So Danca slipper on the back seat of my car where my dance bag had been; at least I didn't lose it.

Like many of us, I'm spending a lot more time at home than in past years. The primary reason I leave the house is to go to a ballet class. Because of pandemic restrictions, the dressing rooms are closed and we're supposed to arrive dressed for class (with some sort of covering outerwear). Thus most of the time I get fully dressed I'm wearing a dance belt and leggings or tights.

The 3/4-length leggings I wear are easily available online and I have a growing collection. Not so with men's dance belts. I have four, but they're all 8 to 10 years old and are getting washed at least once a week now. Thinking I should get more, I started looking for them. The Capezio style 5930 dance belt I usually wear is not to be found in stock anywhere. Nor is the Capezio style N26, though I remember having one of these back in the 1980s not liking it. Capezio claims they expect the N5930 in black to be back in stock by the end of this year, but in beige they won't be available until mid May of next year.

Discount Dance also stocks a few other brands of dance belt. The Capezio models are listed as backordered with an estimated 9-10 weeks for delivery, despite Capezio's own estimate of 22 weeks. Nikolay/Grishko is also backordered wit the same 9-10 week lead time. Wear Moi is the "best" option, listed as "in stock, ready to ship" but "from another warehouse" with an estimated 6-8 week delivery.

Seriously???
