200th Post!

Two years and five months after starting this blog, this is my 200th post. Wow!

Even more amazing is that, not only am I still taking ballet classes, I'm taking three a week from some amazing instructors and still enthusiastic about it.

On more mundane topics...

How does one respond to a compliment from an instructor during class? I got TWO of them during barre Sunday morning. It seems rude to not say "thank you", but I suspect if I let my concentration lapse I'll immediately screw up whatever I'm doing. And that's not something I want to do when the instructor is standing right next to me!

I was worried what the result of two ballet classes, a 5 mile hike, and a most of a "Stretch" class on Sunday would be on my body. I'm happy to report that I'm about equally sore on left and right sides. My calf muscles ache a bit, and my glutes are a bit tender. Otherwise I feel pretty good. I'm going to make a serious effort to get to class early enough tomorrow evening to warm up slowly.

  1. Whenever I am corrected I adjust or move how they are instructing me to do. Then I just very quietly say thank you. I feel like it is important I acknowledge the correction and let the teacher know I appreciate her/his help

    1. Hi Rori! Thanks for the comment! I must have brushed the "delete comment" button by accident. No confirmation needed and no "undo." Bummer!

More's the pity because I agreed with you completely. What I've done in the past is smile and nod just a bit, and try really hard not to screw up for the next 30 seconds. I hope I get the chance to practice that more often. :-)

That said, Blogger sometimes quarantines comments for reasons I can't explain. If your comment doesn't show up immediately it may be waiting for approval. I'll approve almost anything relevant, but I have to notice it first! Spam will be trashed, of course.
