Fun with automated translators

When I was something like 12 I took one class in French at the YMCA. It's the only formal training I've had in the language. Trying to figure out how to string together words from ballet books without butchering the language, I decided to feed some phrases through Google's translator.

Google Translate does not speak ballet French.

For example, these phrases:
pas de bourrée dessous de côté. fondu pointe tendue effacée devant.
were translated to:
not filled under side. melted edge tense given way.
Ummm... not exactly helpful!

Comments are encouraged! It doesn't matter whether you're a total newbie asking a question or a professional offering advice; I want to hear from you.

That said, Blogger sometimes quarantines comments for reasons I can't explain. If your comment doesn't show up immediately it may be waiting for approval. I'll approve almost anything relevant, but I have to notice it first! Spam will be trashed, of course.
